Rajasthan Police on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 conducted an online session called ‘Awaaj’ for the students of grade IX-XII of SRN International School. The objective of the programme was to raise awareness and curb crimes against women and children. The joint aegis program of Rajasthan Police and SRN International School focused on giving youth the complete information about all kinds of laws and how to avoid crime and criminals, as well as efforts were made to develop a sense of respect for women so that those who face sexual harrasment feel safe.
The keynote speaker for the session was Ms Seema Hingonia, Additional SP,Telecommunications, Jaipur. She articulated that through this session police want to connect with youngsters to increase their knowledge and awareness about criminal laws and the impact of pressing issues such as cyber crime and sexual harrasement. She stressed on identifying perpetrators of crime against women and child abusers and on self defence. The session also encouraged students for voluntary compliance to law and sensitized them about the hazards of breaking laws.
School Principal Usha Sharma urged that "Children should be sensitized about their personal safety too and issues pertaining to cyber security and teachers should motivate students to always share their problems with their elders,"
